Computed Tomography (CT)
The CT machine uses x-rays and a computer to produce diagnostic images of the head and body. Johnson County Hospital also uses the CT scanner to perform bone density evaluations to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. It is often necessary to use an injection of contrast media, or x-ray dye, as well as orally ingested Barium to better evaluate different areas of the body. This valuable service is available for both routine and emergency needs.
