Why We’re Here

A community cannot thrive without access to quality, reliable medical care. Johnson County Hospital has always been proud to offer this type of care, while keeping up with the rapid progress of medical technology. Johnson County Hospital must have the financial resources to continually upgrade and maintain its facility and services to meet the increasing demands of the community’s healthcare needs.

The Johnson County Hospital Foundation was organized in 1999 as a non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable organization benefiting the area by serving as a custodian of gifts and bequests for Johnson County Hospital. The Foundation was reorganized in November 2010 as a 501(c)(3), non-profit, tax-exempt, public charity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support Johnson County Hospital as it strives to establish and maintain facilities for the purpose of providing high quality healthcare services to the sick and injured in a caring and professional manner regardless of race, creed, handicap or ability to pay and promote those services throughout our service area.

The Johnson County Hospital Foundation is committed to enhancing the programs, equipment and services of Johnson County Hospital.

Ways to Give

For many, there is a compelling need to make a difference – to leave a lasting legacy for family and community. At Johnson County Hospital, we have witnessed the countless ways in which people have changed the lives of our patients by their generous donations. These gifts are everlasting and ensure the future of healthcare in Johnson County.

All donations to the Foundation are important, and we assure you that gifts are carefully used as designated.

We offer a wide range of gift options to best suit your needs and minimize your taxes.*

  • Gifts of Cash

Given outright or in the form of a pledge, gifts of cash are attractive because they are simple to make, create immediate impact and are easily earmarked to support our community.

  • Gifts of Life Insurance

You can create a gift for the future naming the Foundation as a beneficiary of an existing policy or take out a new policy naming the Foundation as the owner and irrevocable beneficiary, thus creating an endowment gift from income rather than capital.

  • Gifts by Will

You may designate a percentage of your estate to us or we can be named as the final estate’s beneficiary, receiving whatever remains after providing for loved ones.

  • Gifts of Grain & Livestock

Nebraska ranchers and farmers can save significant taxes by contributing commodities such as corn or cattle to the Johnson County Hospital Foundation, instead of making a cash contribution after selling the commodities.

When an agricultural producer transfers legal ownership of grain or livestock to 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, such as the Johnson County Hospital Foundation, before the commodity is sold, the producer will not realize taxable income from a sale, thus minimizing taxes. The producer is still able to deduct the entire cost of the production of the commodity. Depending on the producer’s specific circumstances, savings may be realized on federal and state income tax and self-employment tax.

*The Foundation recommends that donors consult with their attorney and/or financial advisor before gifts are made. All gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible. For further tax information, please consult with your financial advisor. All other gifts not listed are subject to the approval of the Foundation Board of Directors.
